World Ocean Day 2024: SOS for Biodiversity

On the occasion of World Ocean Day last June, 8 2024, and in response to the United Nations theme "Awaken new depths", Relais & Châteaux has launched an SOS for biodiversity on World Ocean Day. In partnership with Ethic Ocean, they highlight the critical importance of preserving marine biodiversity.

As an engaged member of Relais & Châteaux, Le Bora Bora has joined the call to action to preserve marine biodiversity. To mark this special occasion, our chefs have prepared a special menu featuring local marine species used sustainably in Polynesian cuisine thanks to traditional fishing methods: « Mariniere » style shells from Huahine, crab tartar, and lemon grass foam with squid ink tile.

The initiative highlights the urgent steps that need to be taken to protect the seas and includes the creation of specialties inspired by ecological fish-food practices. The initiative is part of a wider commitment to environmental sustainability and raising awareness of the importance of preserving the oceans.
